This course was developed for nurses who have an interest in advancing their knowledge of the care of pediatric patients with enteral feeding devices. Content addresses evaluation, management and follow up for patients requiring enteral feeding devices. The learner will become familiar with various forms of enteral nutrition, including considerations to be mindful of when discussing tube feeding. Various types of tubes are discussed, and common post-operative complications and treatments are discussed. Replacement of nasogastric and low profile balloon gastrostomy tubes is reviewed. The content is applicable for both the bedside and advanced practice nurse.

Onnalisa Nash, MS, APRN, CPNP-PC is an APN program coordinator for the Section of Colorectal and Pelvic Reconstruction at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She completed her Masters of Science in nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio in 2012. Onnalisa has worked for Nationwide Children's Hospital since 2005. Her previous experience includes working as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit, as a wound, ostomy, and continence nurse and as a primary care nurse practitioner in outpatient pediatrics. She joined the CCPR team in May 2014. She specializes in the care of pediatric patients with colorectal and pelvic reconstruction issues such as Anorectal Malformations, Hirschsprung Disease and other disorders of the bowel. She has lectured nationally and internationally and has authored and co-authored 3 textbooks and multiple journal articles.

- Identify clinical indications for eternal feedings
- Identify various options for eternal feedings as well as advantages/disadvantages of each type
- Recognize potential complications related to care with new and established gastrostomy/jejunostomy tubes
- Demonstrate understanding of necessary steps for safe eternal tube replacement
